Taking the Professional Licensure Examinations is now within the reach of all qualified college graduates. Unlike years ago when one had to go back to Philippines to take the Licensure Board Exams, which is more expensive, now it can be taken in annually in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and United Arab Emirates under Executive Order No. 835. This Order directs the Professional Regulation Commission and Other Concerned Government Agencies through the Department of Labor and Employment to conduct a Yearly Special Professional Licensure Board Examinations (SPLBE) in various Middle East Countries.
To avail of the Order’s benefits, the formation the Philippine Professional Organizations, its implementing arm, is mandatory. Therefore, in 2011, Philippine Professional Organization-Bahrain (PPOB) was formed which was initially composed of PICPA (Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants), UAP (United Architects of the Philippines), IIEE (Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers), PSME (Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers) and PICE (Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers). Other professional groups joined thereafter.
To date, PPOB had produced 73 licensed professionals through this SPLBE in Bahrain alone. Review for the September 2015 board examinations has just started.
